The consensus is that the Springbank 10 year old should join the Oban and Old Pultenay for the next meeting. Springbank is on the Mull of Kintyre (anybody having disturbing flashbacks of Paul McCartney and bagpipes...?), a crooked finger of land pointing southwestwards from Scotland towards Northern Ireland. It claims to be the oldest "independent family owned" distillery in Scotland and is the sole representative available to us here of the Campbelltown whisky region. Campbelltown once had 37 distilleries but now it is down to two, including the Springbank.
